谷歌塗鴉 紀念紅綠燈問世101週年
（中央社倫敦5日綜合外電報導）不耐煩的機車騎士把它視為眼中釘，全球無數人因它而躁動不耐，但谷歌（Google）今天仍在搜尋首頁的「塗鴉」（Doodle）放上一段可愛動畫，慶祝交通號誌燈誕生101週年。
英國「每日電訊報」（Telegraph）報導，全球最初的交通燈號19世紀末出現在倫敦，裝置在英國國會大廈（Houses of Parliament）外。
當時的煤氣燈無法自動轉換燈號，警察必須手動控制，才能指揮通過橋街（Bridge Street）、大喬治街（Great George Street）和國會街（ParliamentStreet）的車輛。
然而，煤氣交通信號燈1869年因氣體外洩爆炸，導致負責操作的警察受到重傷，結束短短的歷史。
一直到30多年後，美國才出現電力信號燈，逐步發展成如今適用於全球的交通規則，紅燈停綠燈行。
谷歌塗鴉繪出第1個電力交通燈號，這個紅綠燈1914年8月5日安裝在美國俄亥俄州克里夫蘭（Cleveland），發揮了重大功用。
谷歌塗鴉畫家史溫哈特（Nate Swinehart）說，他沒有把黃燈畫進去，因為黃燈是日後才加入交通號誌，以便更有效地管制交通。（譯者：中央社劉文瑜）1040805
